Safari

Day One: Experience Tarangire from the ground up. This morning, transfer to a designated area for a guided walking safari. With an armed ranger, you'll learn to read the wilderness through tracks, scat, and plant usesβ€”feeling the texture of baobab bark and listening to the alarm calls of birds. This intimate, sensory experience reveals the smaller wonders of the ecosystem. Return to camp for lunch, followed by a traditional afternoon game drive to cover more distance and seek out the big game. This combination offers the perfect balance of immersion and spectacle.

Tarangire Walking Safari

Later in the day, continue your journey to Tortilis Tarangire Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day Two: Today offers the luxury of time to fully immerse yourself in Tarangire's ecosystem. After a relaxed breakfast, depart for a full-day exploration. Your guide will take you to the most productive areas along the Tarangire River's winding course, where wildlife activity peaks. With patience, you may witness intimate animal behaviors: elephants digging for water in the sand rivers, lionesses teaching cubs to hunt, or towering giraffes browsing acacia canopies. This extended time allows for quiet moments of observation that turn good sightings into great memories.

Overnight at EAC Pakulala Luxury Safari Camp, positioned on the crater rim, allowing for an early descent the following morning.

Day Three: Early morning descend into the Crater with a hot packed breakfast and a game drive in hopes of witnessing the Big 5. In Africa, the Big Five is made up of the lion, rhinoceros, leopards, elephant and Cape buffalo. All of these animals are viewable within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including the crater and are protected thanks to the wildlife conservation efforts of Tanzania.

En route today, you will stop at Olduvai Gorge, a striking geological feature set within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The gorge is widely known for archaeological findings discovered there and is frequently discussed in studies relating to early human activity, though interpretations of its significance vary. Your visit offers an opportunity to explore the site, its setting.

In the late afternoon, transfer to Mawe's Ndutu Gnu Migration Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day Four: Today's focus is the Ndutu Plains within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the stage for one of nature's greatest events (Jan-Mar). You'll search for the vast herds of the Great Migration, where hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra gather to graze and give birth. Witnessing a wobbly calf take its first steps, with opportunistic predators never far away, is a profound and dramatic spectacle. The short grass plains allow for exceptional visibility and photography. This is raw, intimate nature at its most powerful.

In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to Mawe's Ndutu Gnu Migration Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day Five: Depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but diverse park set beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park features groundwater forest, open grasslands, and a shallow soda lake that attracts a wide variety of birdlife.Lake Manyara is well known for its tree-climbing lions, as well as elephant, giraffe, buffalo, and large troops of baboons.

In the late afternoon, transfer to Serena Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight.
